African Themed Bedroom
Did you travel to Africa and get the itch to have your home look like the Sahara desert? These Africa-inspired bedrooms may give you some decorating ideas.
Sunset in a kid's room
This room is probably intended for a kid with the full-size bed and stuffed animals. But we love the photograph of the Saharan sunset that has been turned into wallpaper, making it feel like the desert is right outside a window. The tall grass lining the floor is a fun touch and the faux tropical leaves hanging from the ceiling give a calming, tropical rain forest vibe.

Multi-textured room
We love the choice of color in this room. The gold ceiling and the swamp-green walls and floor give the room a natural, ethereal look. Every detail is dramatic and unapologetically exotic, from the peacock piece to the fuax gator skin back wall. If you're looking to go all out, take a page from this designer's book.

Pseudo-tent bedroom
Using a room with a slanted roof to create a tent feeling makes sense. Pinning tribal print blankets to the slanted ceiling above the bed gives the feeling of sleeping on a safari. And we love the choice of a simple, solid and earth-colored bedspread with animal print sheets and pillows.

Luxury safari bedroom
This bedroom from HGTV.com combines modern patterns with safari pieces perfectly to create the ideal safari-chic vibe. Small touches like the cheetah-print chair, the fur throw pillows on the couch and the wooden engraved chairs are just enough to give this room an African look.

Thatched roof ceiling bedroom
The standout feature of this room is a thatched-roof ceiling that gives the room a true adventure vibe. This is something you could install inside a real ceiling. The hot red stucco walls that wrap around the bed make the sleep area feel like a cave, and the tribal throw blanket is a nice touch.

Safari kids bedroom
We love this creative idea for a children's bunk bed, with the inside of the jeep serving as the bottom bunk and the roof serving as the top bunk. How could a child not be excited about bedtime when he climbs onto this?

Executive tribal bedroom
The faux leather matched with soft fabric and tribal prints on the pillows are creative and sophisticated. We love the lines from the South African national anthem above the bed — "God bless Africa; listen also to our prayers" — and the small bursts of shrubbery around the room. The diamond cabinets make for a tribal look, too.

Cave-inspired bedroom
We imagine anyone would sleep soundly in this dark, calming room. The black marble floor gives the feeling of being inside of a cave, as does the rugged, broken brick wall serving as the headboard. This room also has a thatched-hut ceiling, and the canopy over the bed makes for a hot desert night feel.

Chic and airy bedroom
The designer of this bedroom did some remarkable things with the back wall. Separating it into wooden and white space gives the illusion of a larger room, and the African masks are great finds. If you look closely you'll see that the mattress is actually sitting on a large wooden frame on the floor, and the size of the frame allows for decorative pieces to be placed around the foot of the bed.

Simple earthy bedroom
The designer of this room kept things simple but still managed to get an African look. Just installing mahogany colored shutters makes the room instantly feel like an African hut, as does the wicker furniture. We love the heavy adventure chest used as an end piece for the bed, and the tribal print blanket hung over the bed.
